On May 23, 2011, through a signing ceremony of the partnership agreement, the Romanian Textile Concept Cluster was launched as a first initiative of the association bearing the same name.

The event took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and it registered wide participation from public authorities, as well as from the manufacturers in the field; the following speakers took the stand: Mr. Sorin Dimitriu – President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bucharest, Mr. Lianu Costin – Director of Export-Promotion Direction at MECMA, Mrs. Cristina Leucuta – Deputy Director Industrial Politics Direction at MECMA, Mr. Jose Iacobescu – President of the Union of the Bilateral Chambers of Commerce in Romania, Mrs. Ruxandra Stoica – External Programs and Financing Director at CCIB (also the host of the event), Mrs. Emilia Visileanu – General Manager of the Research – Development National Institute for Textile and Leather and, of course, Mrs. Sara Wechsler – President of the Romanian Textile Concept Cluster.

The event ended with a fashion show presenting mini-collections produced by the members of the association.
